San Diego will once again be part of the Olympic Games.

San Diego will once again be part of the Olympic Games.

For the first time since 1984, the Olympics are returning to the region, with soccer matches scheduled at Snapdragon Stadium as part of the LA28 Summer Games. The venue will host group stage and knockout round matches for the men’s and women’s tournaments, placing San Diego among a select group of U.S. cities included in the Olympic football footprint.

All additional venues announced by LA28 are modern Major League Soccer stadiums, selected for their ability to meet international competition standards and engage local communities. Snapdragon Stadium, which opened in 2022, is one of them.

Beyond sport, this is a meaningful signal for the region. Global events of this scale elevate visibility, attract international attention, and reinforce Southern California’s role as a place where world-class activity happens.

These moments shape how markets are perceived, and why presence, timing, and readiness matter for international companies looking at the U.S. This is the lens we work from every day at Quartermaster California.
